Following our AGM, the Belfast Pride management committee set the dates for 2011. Today mark the end of many years of campaigning for Marriage Equality as the last hurdle was overcome with the first couples converting Civil Partnerships to marriages. LGBT+ couples are no longer less equal than other citizens in this important area of law.
Today we have been marking Transgender Day of Remembrance to remember and honour the victims of transphobia. We need to challenge bias and support Trans and Non Binary people, reject mis-information and join the calls for Rights and Better Health-care.

Pride events are about equality for all of the LGBT+ community - celebrating our lives and protesting for rights. Making a stand for human rights including Trans Rights and racial equality is not 'controversial' and infringing on the rights of BBC staff is unfair.
