Poetry with Pride: Queering the Green

The Mac, 10 Exchange St West

27th July at 7.00pm

This year, Poetry with Pride is teaming up with The Lifeboat to celebrate the anthology ‘Queering the Green: Post-2000 Queer Irish Poetry’. Host Toby Buckley will have the help of four of its contributors including Rosamund Taylor, Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan and Paula Cunningham. We will also be publishing this year’s Poetry with Pride Magazine – a collection of original queer poetry that will be launched at the event with all proceeds going to support more poetry events at Pride.

Edited by Belfast-based poet (and previous Poetry with Pride reader) Paul Maddern, Queering the Green: Post-2000 Queer Irish Poetry (The Lifeboat Press, 2021) is a landmark anthology which brings together the work of 31 contemporary queer poets from across the island of Ireland. By presenting the work of emerging writers side-by-side with that of some of Ireland’s leading poets, it paints a dynamic image of queer life today and over the past two decades.

BSL: This event will be supported & interpreted by a BSL interpreter.
